Advancing Rural Education Site Visit, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m
This site visit is a collaborative effort between the National Rural Education Association, the Georgia Department of Education’s Office of Rural Education and Innovation, and AASA’s Advancing Rural Education cohort. Join this site visit to a rural school system and learn about strategies for advancing rural education.

The site visit will be to Candler City School District in Metter, GA. Any rural education leader can register. The Georgia Department of Education supports educational leaders through their office dedicated to rural education and innovation. AASA’s Advancing Rural Education cohort is comprised of superintendents and other educational leaders who serve rural communities across the country and are seeking to improve student pathways for learning.

Cost: $69.00 (includes transportation and lunch)

Registration for this site visit is separate from general conference and pre-conference registration. Limited to first 50 registrants.

Pre-Conference, 1-4:30 p.m.
The pre-conference will offer expanded opportunities for professional learning and networking prior to the start of the 2024 National Forum to Advance Rural Education. Whether you’re a new or experienced rural administrator or educator, a research, policymaker, business or community leader, this event is designed for anyone seeking to make research and data more relevant and actionable, and to hone your advocacy skills for positive change.

Join us on Wednesday evening to grab your registration materials, have a few snacks and drinks, listen to music, connect with exhibitors, and meet other conference attendees! Experience the fun, energy, and excitement before the official conference begins.
